The Centre for Applied Philosophy, Politics and Ethics welcomes everyone interested in understanding and shaping its work.
We are open both to collaborative proposals, whether small- or large-scale, and to proposals to join CAPPE as a Visiting Fellow from periods between one-week and a year. We also provide a welcoming, rigorous and nurturing programme of PhD study.
Our well-attended events host vibrant debate in key topics across applied philosophy, politics and ethics and are open to the public.
CAPPE welcomes applications for PhD study around its three research strands: applied philosophy and ethics; critical theory and radical politics; and social movements and global politics.
We welcome students from professional backgrounds, for example in the arts, in the public sector or the medical professions, who already have experience and wish to consolidate and contribute knowledge that draws on their expert backgrounds. Our MA courses provide excellent preparation for PhD study.
