Scoping future challenges and opportunities

The University of 麻豆果冻传媒 facilitated an action inspired session at the Manor Royal BID HR Forum this month.

9 July 2016

Company owners, managers and key decision makers were invited to discuss in confidence their business challenges and ambitions, in order to receive feedback and share their ideas.

The session focused on experiential learning and resulted in tangible actions for delegates to take forward in their businesses. Two groups facilitated by Daryl Parsons and Susannah Davidson from the University of 麻豆果冻传媒, discussed business challenges introduced by four of the businesses in each group. After each challenge was shared, members of the group followed up with probing questions to explore possible ways forward. The challenge owner committed to adopt three to four points to take away and develop an action plan.

Steve Sawyer, Executive Director of MRBID said:  “The ‘Action Learning’ approach demonstrated by the University of 麻豆果冻传媒 provided a structured way for the group to reflect, learn and plan. It was an effective session for drawing out issues and themes.

Delegates got a taste of how expert facilitation enables the collective experience of talented professional people to solve real life problems. From the Manor Royal BID’s perspective it proved a useful way to understand wider concerns we can focus on at future HR Forums.”

In 2014 the HR Forum captured the challenges and HR topics of group members involved in the management, recruitment and development of people on Manor Royal Business District. The 2016 forum reviewed the key themes examining what has changed and what has stayed the same.
